Silicone placemat: four sizes and many patterns to suit any use
The silicone placemat is distinguished by a range of four dimensions: 20 × 30, 30 × 40, 40 × 50, and 60 × 50 cm. Numerous patterns are available, including Garden of Eden, Alice in Wonderland, white rose, coffee, black, grey vegetable, white flower, orange, green, blue, white dog, green dragon, and other designs.
This variety allows you to choose a format according to your actual use: a small support for a cup or a light plate, a standard size for a place setting, or a large support for a more generous dining area or to protect a larger surface.
Which size should you choose for your silicone placemat?
The 20 × 30 cm is suitable for small spaces, under a cup, a bowl, or a small plate. The 30 × 40 cm corresponds to a compact meal format. The 40 × 50 cm offers more space around a plate and cutlery. The 60 × 50 cm covers a large area and can be suitable for a generous tray, a coffee corner, or a surface you wish to define more clearly.
Always measure your table before choosing: two large 60 × 50 cm mats placed face to face require much more space than a pair of 30 × 40 cm mats.

How to choose the pattern?
Decorative patterns like Garden of Eden, Alice in Wonderland, flowers, dogs, or dragons can become the focal point of a table. Solid or more understated versions—black, coffee, green, blue—are easier to integrate with tableware that is already decorated.
With a printed silicone placemat, keep the tablecloth and tableware relatively simple. If you choose a solid color, you can instead introduce more patterns on napkins or the table centerpiece.
What format for a family table?
The 30 × 40 cm is interesting if your table is narrow and you want to keep central space free. The 40 × 50 cm offers a more comfortable frame around the meal. Before choosing 60 × 50 cm, check the depth of the tabletop: this size can occupy a large part of the table.
For children or a snack corner, 30 × 40 cm is often a good compromise between useful surface and bulk.
How to place a rectangular format?
Align the long edge parallel to the table and keep a few centimeters of margin. On large formats, the plate can be slightly offset to leave an area for the glass and cutlery. On a small tray, avoid overlapping the mats in the center to keep space available for serving dishes.
The silicone placemat can also be used on a desk, under a coffee machine, or on a countertop if the dimensions correspond to the area to be defined.
Silicone: a flexible material for everyday use
Silicone offers a flexible and easy-to-handle surface, practical for organizing a place setting or defining an area on the table. For maintenance, follow the instructions provided with the product and opt for gentle cleaning to preserve the patterns.
For a very hot pan or dish, use a suitable trivet rather than the silicone placemat.
With a tablecloth or on a bare table?
On a bare table, a colorful pattern becomes immediately visible. On a solid-colored tablecloth, it creates a well-defined zone around the place setting. A simple table runner can complement the solid versions without overloading the decorative patterns.
Maintenance and storage
Follow the instructions provided with the product. To preserve the prints, avoid abrasive tools and harsh products. Clean stains quickly, then let the mat dry completely before storing.
Store the pieces flat or according to the product recommendations to avoid prolonged deformation.
